INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

Intellectual property is an intangible knowledge product and shall mean an include all results, conclusions, deductions, inventions, ideas, discoveries, enhancements, solutions, processes, modifications, know-how, data, and information of every kind and description conceived, generated, made or reduced to practice as the case may be, designs, software programs, business models and copyrightable work, resulting from the intellectual output of the faculty, staff, students, research scholars and other employees of the college

Vision:

The vision of Intellectual Property Rights Committee is to be the fountainhead of new ideas and of innovators in technology and science and its mission is to create an ambience in which new ideas, research and scholarship flourish and from which the leaders and innovators of tomorrow emerge.

Mission:

  • To promote constant awareness about IPR
  • To engage in conduct IP workshop seminar
  • To advise and guide students and faculty on the importance of IPR with the help of authorized patent anatomy.

Objectives:

  • Create a conducive environment in S.EA Collegge of Science, Commerce and Arts.
  • safeguard the inventor’s intellectual property and provide incentives to the investors with fair IP management and culture.
  • Provide legal support wherever necessary to defend and protect the intellectual property rights obtained by the college against any infringement/unauthorized.
  • Ensure that once the investors decide to explore the prospects of commercialization of IP, investors must disclose the same to the institute, while continuing to keep the information confidential while/until patent application(s) is (are) being processed.
  • Enable the college to make beneficial implementation of such developed IPs for the benefit of the inventors, the college and the nation at large.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To promote constant awareness with cell formulated.
  • To engage in conduct IP workshop/seminars
  • To advice and guide students and faculty on the importance of IPR.
  • Increasing IP awareness among faculty, staff and students within the institution.
  • Managing and protection of the institutional IP through patenting and other IP forms.
  • To encourage faculty staff and students towards object-oriented research at institute level.
  • To pursue for MOUs with industries with knowledge sharing.

All members are hereby informed to keep vigilance and oversee the implementation of the recommendations of to the committee from time to time.

The Institution has established Intellectual Property Rights Committee in the year of 2017. The IQAC has Re-Constituted IPR and elected convener, faculty members Governing Body meeting through the notification REF.NO.SEAD/0407/2023 dated on 16th November 2022 which was held at Principal office of SEA College of Science, Commerce & Arts, K.R. Puram, Bangalore.
