SC\/ST WELFARE COMMITTEE<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

To adhere to the guidelines of the Government of India and following the directions issued by UGC and Karnataka State Law University, the Scheduled Caste \/Scheduled Tribes\/ Other backward Caste Committee in the Institution is constituted to ensure the continued welfare of the reserved category. The committee also acts as a redressal forum for the students and employees belonging to the SC\/ST\/OBC category to reach out in case of any grievances that they may face.<\/span><\/p>

Objectives of the Committee<\/strong><\/h5>
  • To ensure there is no caste-based discrimination in the Institution<\/span><\/li>
  • To take up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid down by the Government of India for the SC\/ST\/OBC students and employees.<\/span><\/li>
  • Guide the SC\/ST\/OBC students at the Institute, to optimally utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the State Governments, Government of India (GOI), and UGC.<\/span><\/li>
  • Sensitize all the sectors of Teaching \/non-Teaching staff towards the Constitutional mandate, UGC Guidelines for the Cell,\u00a0 and\u00a0 its\u00a0 functioning\u00a0 at <\/span>SEA College of Science, Commerce and Arts<\/b>.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
    Functions<\/strong><\/h5>
    • Function as a Grievance Redressal Cell for the grievances of SC\/ST\/OBC students and employees of the Institution and render them necessary help in solving their academic and administrative problems.<\/span><\/li>
    • To deal with the representations received from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Castes candidates regarding their admission, recruitment, promotion, and other similar matters in the Institution.<\/span><\/li>
    • To circulate Government of India orders and Commission\u2019s decisions and to collect information in respect of appointment, training of these communities in teaching and non-teaching posts in the Institution in suitable forms by a stipulated date and take follow up action where required.<\/span><\/li>
    • To collect reports and information regarding the GOI orders and the various aspects of education, training, and employment of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Castes candidates, for evolving new policies or modifying existing policy by the commission.<\/span><\/li>
    • To monitor the working of the remedial coaching scheme in the Institution.<\/span><\/li>
    • To Analyze information on admissions, education, training, and employment of SC\u2019s and STs, and OBC, and prepare reports and digests for onward transmission to the Ministry of Human Resource Development\/ University Grants Commission and such other authorities as may be required.<\/span><\/li>
    • To maintain a register for grievances of SC\/ST\/OBC in the Institution for the members belonging to these communities.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
      Process of Submitting the Complaint<\/strong><\/h5>

      \u00a0<\/p>

      Any aggrieved employee \/student belonging to the reserved category can reach out to the Committee<\/span><\/p>

      1. By sending an email at <\/span>priseadegree@gmail.com<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
      2. Through the online portal provided on the website of the Institution or<\/span><\/li>
      3. By lodging, a complaint in the register was kept with the principal\u2019s office.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>
        Grievance Mechanism<\/strong><\/h5>
        • On receiving a complaint, the Committee shall commence a meeting within fifteen days of receipt of the complaint.<\/span><\/li>
        • The committee shall fix a date of hearing the complaint which shall be communicated to the aggrieved person.<\/span><\/li>
        • The aggrieved party may either appear in person or submit written averments of his\/her case before the Committee.<\/span><\/li>
        • The Committee shall report its findings to the principal with recommendations if any, with in thirty days.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
