Thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student, with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student, in all higher education institutions in the country, and thereby, to provide for the healthy development, physically and psychologically, to all students. To achieve these objectives the committee has been constituted.<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In cast of emergency the students \/ parents in distress owing to ragging may use National Anti Ragging Helpline 1800-180-5522 (Toll Free) Website : www.antiragging.in, Email :\u00a0info@amanmovement.org\u00a0and Mobile No. 09871170303, 09818400116 (only in case of emergency)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ragging is totally banned in the College and anyone found guilty of ragging and\/or abetting ragging is liable to be punished as it is a criminal offence.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2><b>OURs IS A RAGGING FREE CAMPUS<\/b><\/h2><p><b>Anti-Ragging\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The University Grants Commission has reiterated the ban on ragging of learners in Institutions of Higher Education. The learners admitted in the SEA College of Science Commerce and Arts are therefore directed to strictly desist from any kind of ragging in the college premises.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>Forms of Ragging<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Display of noisy, disorderly conduct, teasing, excitement by rough or rude treatment or handling, including rowdy, undisciplined activities which cause or likely to cause annoyance, undue hardship, physical or psychological harm or raise apprehensive fear in a fresher, or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such a student will not do in the ordinary course and which causes him\/her shame or embarrassment or danger to his\/her life, etc.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Mission\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To ensure compliance with the provisions of regulations as well as the provisions of any law for the time being in force concerning ragging; and also to monitor and oversee the performance of the Anti-ragging Squad in prevention of ragging in the institution.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Objectives of Anti Ragging Committee<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anti-Ragging Committee will be the supervisory and advisory committee in preserving a Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the college Campus. The main objectives of this cell are as follows:<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To aware the students of dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Too promptly and stringently deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To generate an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not go unnoticed and unpunished.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><b>Anti-Ragging is a Criminal offence Ragging Constitutes any of the following acts:\u00a0<\/b><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating, or managing a fresher or any other student.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indulging in indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asking any student to do any act which such student will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, torment or embarrassment to adversely affect the physique or psyche of that fresher or any other student.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homo-sexual assaults, and stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, posts, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><h2><b>Punishment for Participation in\/or Abetment of Ragging<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following Punishment may be given to the learners for Participation in\/or Abetment of Ragging:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1. Cancellation of admission from the college.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2. Withholding\/withdrawing scholarship\/fellowship and other benefits<\/span><\/p><ol start=\"3\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Suspension from attending lectures and practical\u2019s\/Expulsion from hostel.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. Lodging of FIR with the police.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5. Fine up to Rs. 20,000\/-<\/span><\/li><\/ol><h2><b>Anti-Ragging Committee Composition<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As per the UGC guidelines, Anti-ragging committee of SEA College of Science Arts &amp; Commerce has following composition.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anti-ragging squad is also formed in the college to keep vigil in the college premises and submit recommendations to the Anti Ragging committee as and when required.
